Essilor Vision Foundation

Better Life Through Better Sight

It is estimated that 1 in every 64 people in Australia are blind or have low vision.
This is a startling number.

Impaired vision is the most common disability in the world, yet its impact on society is largely unrecognised. Seeing well improves everything – from being able to read and doing well in school to employability and personal well-being.

The Essilor Vision Foundation (EVF) is committed to eliminating poor vision and its lifelong consequences, and to providing underprivileged people the opportunity to live a better life through better sight.

We are committed to eliminating poor vision and its lifelong consequences.

Our Projects

The Foundation is active right across Australia in all states and many local communities.

  1. Community Services
    Donated: $0.00
The Foundation supports vision screenings at a number of community organisations. Alongside sourcing volunteer optometrists we also provide spectacles, as required.
  2. Aphakic Spectacles
    Donated: $0.00
Every year 200 Australian babies are born with cataract. The removal of these cataracts causes a loss of accommodation, far sightedness and a deep anterior chamber.
  3. School Vision Screenings
    Donated: $0.00
The Foundation carries out free school screening across Australia and New Zealand. It targets schools in low socioeconomic areas. Donate your time in your community today.
